The Adventure
A return to an old way of hunting — a caravan trek along the wild, free routes of South-West Africa, modern-day Namibia.
An Old Way adventure is a deliberate rejection of the modern rush. Hunting, for us, developed as a caravan-type trek expedition — a way of living where we rely on heritage, bushcraft, and the intentional effort the modern world is quickly losing.
The routes we take are never the same; the animals we pursue are always different. We set course by the stars and appreciate what nature chooses to show us. Whether navigating by horseback or traversing the rugged terrain in vintage, storied vehicles, every moment is a tribute to our roots.
The Pursuit of Heritage
We believe that doing things the hard way — by hand and with patience — is what defines us and keeps our heritage alive. While our roots run deep in horseback safaris, a vintage Ford F150 and other storied old vehicles ensure that riders and non-riders of all ages share in the same deep, authentic expedition.
If you are looking for an experience as close as possible to what hunting was like from the late 1940s into the mid-1980s, you have found the right expedition train to join.
"We value the hunt more than the kill, and return home just as enriched — empty-handed or not."
— A Deeper Connection
A Deeper Connection
Old Way is a movement to help the world remember that the void in our souls — which we sometimes try to fill with meaningless pursuits — can instead be filled with a deep-seated connection to where we came from and what made us human.
The campfire is an almost holy symbol of friendship and camaraderie in our culture, shared only with friends and brothers. Even continents apart, we find we speak the same quiet language of fire smoke and red-hot coals. Most modern lives only scratch the surface; Old Way provides the opportunity to fill that gap. Discover yourself in simple silence and go home enriched.
"For those who understand that value is measured in effort, not just outcomes."
For the soul that feels out of place in a fast-paced, digital world — those who appreciate the sound of a vintage engine, the feel of handmade leather, and the satisfaction of a hunt that required genuine struggle. We cater to advanced riders seeking not a "trip," but a transformation.
Our typical guest values the stories told by old things and traditional ways. It is an immersion in cultural cuisine, equipment and approach — for the guardians of heritage who refuse to let the history and way of life of our ancestors be forgotten.
Though rooted in the practices of yesteryear, we realistically employ the tools of today. Our dedicated media team documents every highlight of your trail in high definition — and, on request, a handwritten account of your adventure forms part of the memories we create together.
Campfire cuisine, served on enamelware under the stars.
Our staff are masters of campfire cuisine, preparing traditional Namibian dishes and wild-game recipes rarely found in modern circles. In a sincere effort to honour the way we were raised, every meal is a testament to the handmade — the scent of bread, freshly kneaded and baked for every sitting, rises with the camp smoke.
We respect the life given in the hunt, ensuring that every piece of game becomes a storied dish where nothing goes to waste. This table is a celebration of the collective heritage of our staff — all children of Africa — told through the flavour of a family recipe, the rhythm of a song, or a story whispered in the firelight. Beyond the kitchen, our trackers and handlers have dedicated their lives to the wilderness — relationships that begin as staff and clients, and end as lifelong friends.
